Tarakaratnam title conferred

His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji conferred the title "Tarakaratnam" upon three scholars who undertook Shastric examinations under Shri Kanchi Veda Vedanta Shastra Sabha, Tenali.

The three scholars namely Shri Vachaspati Sharma of Dharwad, Shri Sanatkumara of Dharwad & Shri Madhusudana of Srirangam took shastric training under the tutelage of Shri Devadatta Govinda Patil of Pune in the traditional Gurukula method.

The Sabha after a series of exams in Nyaya Shastra held in Tenali, conducted the Maha Pariksha in the benign presence of His Holiness. Shri Devanathacharya and Shri Kuppa Vishwantha Sharma examined the three vidwans.

The three scholars excelled in their exams and were given the title "Tarkaratnam" along with shawl & a Sambhavana of rupees one lakh each in a brief function held after the Nitya Bhashya Paatham of His Holiness. The three scholars of Nyaya Shastra gave exams in various subjects including Pakshata, Avayava, Samanyavirukti, Savyabhichara, Satpratipaksha, Shatakoti and Vyutpattivada.

Along with Shri Devadatta Govinda Patil of Pune, the teacher of the three scholars, Shri Anjaneya Sharma, coordinator of the Sabha was also felicitated. 

Shri Kanchi Veda Vedanta Shastra Sabha, conducts shastric exams every six months in Nyaya, Vyakarana, Mimamsa, Advaita & Veda Bhashya. The students who under take the series of exams are given a monthly stipend and on completion are given Rupees One Lakh. The Teacher is also given a monthly honorarium and a Vishesha Sambhava on the graduation day of their students.
